Instruct a Workshop

The Art in Motion Studio Mission

The Art in Motion Studio aims to encourage intergenerational and intercultural, lifelong learners through interdisciplinary art activities, creative processes and investigation.

Art in Motion studio offerings cannot exist without partnering with instructors like you to bring new, exciting, and educational content to our studio. We aim to make your teaching experience fun, fair, and stress-free. So you have a class in mind that you wish to teach, how will we make it happen? On this page you will find studio and workshop details for the teachers and links for submitting a proposal.

About our studio: The Art in Motion studio is a multi purpose room that can support a variety of activity. With 830 square feet of studio space, ample lighting, a garage door and even a wide screen smart TV, this room is an excellent class room or workshop. That said, at Art in Motion our classroom is also 34 acres of land. Land is our most valuable teacher and we encourage instructors to tap into the local environment in their workshop or even use the landscape and the trail as their classroom. A residency house is provided, in kind, for artists who would like to stay for an extended period.

How the classes work

Art in Motion sponsored workshops are built through a partnership between Art in Motion and the teaching artist. Art instructors can choose to rent the workshop space for the flat workshop rental and do all of their own advertising promotions and handle the transactions. This page discusses the processes of an Art in Motion sponsored workshop.

Money: Who gets paid what?

  • Artists can decide on their course fee as it related to the supplies needed, their time involved, and the value of the class. Payment for Art in Motion sponsored classes will go through the Art in Motion POS. the Teaching Artist will be reimbursed their percentage of %80 of the class. Art in Motion takes 20% of the workshop earnings.

  • There will be a minimum attendance set between the artist and Art in Motion. If the minimum attendance is not met 48 hours prior to the class, the participants will be contacted and payments will be reimbursed. Depending on the activity, the Art in Motion Studio can comfortably hold a maximum of 10 participants with 1-3 instructors.

Advertising

  • Art in Motion will advertise the class offering on the Art in Motion Facebook page, Website, Instagram, and the monthly lineup will be posted on Around the Cloud. The Artist is encouraged to post and self-promote their course offerings.
