Sunday Funday with Squid City Slingers
Squid City Slingers is a high-energy trio blending bluegrass, folk, gypsy jazz, and rock. Based in Minnesota, they’ve built a strong following in the Twin Cities and Twin Ports with driving stand-up bass, fiery fiddle, and flat-picking guitar. Their mix of heartfelt originals and handpicked covers delivers foot-stomping energy and rich harmonies. SCS has played renowned venues like Bent Paddle, Earth Rider, Broken Clock, Gunflint Tavern, and Mankato Brewery while making waves at major events. In 2024, they headlined Bluegrass on the Black Festival and SquidFest and played the MN Musician Showcase at Mall of America. In 2025, they’ll hit Rhythm of the River Bluegrass Festival and River Falls Bluegrass, Bourbon & Brews Festival, expanding their reach into WI, IA, ND, and SD. They also recently opened for Mooncats, a nationally touring bluegrass band from ND. Beyond festivals, SCS plays private events and weddings, with many already booked for 2025. Their upcoming EP, "Harbors & Highways", recorded at Library Recording Studio in Minneapolis, drops in Summer 2025, with their first single, “Feed My Fire,” releasing soon. With new music, expanding tours, and growing demand, Squid City Slingers are on the rise as one of the Midwest’s most exciting new acoustic acts.
