Hops and History: Questionable Medical Devices
Join Laurie Kleinbaum Fink, PhD, from the Science Museum of Minnesota, to learn about the collection of questionable medical devices that form the backbone of a popular exhibition, Weighing the Evidence. Come and learn about the collection, the exhibition that showcases the collection, and how the Science Museum of Minnesota uses objects to engage the public in STEM.

Red Cross Blood Drive
On Monday, October 28th we proudly partner with the American Red Cross to roll up our sleeves and help save lives!
The Red Cross has over -135 years of experience providing humanitarian aid including more than 75 years of supplying blood to those in need. Each pint of blood we collect can help save up to three lives and will touch the lives of so many more.
What a great way to pay it forward and make an impact on people in our community and across the country. We are very excited about the drive and I hope you are too! Appointments are available now!
Paint your own Pottery!
Drop in and paint your own pottery with Doug from PotSpot! Independent family owned "Paint your own" ceramics shop in Avon MN is coming to Art in Motion! Choose from a selection of bisque fired ceramic pieces, and add your creative ideas!
We then fire your pieces and call you when they are ready to pick up. Our prices include all paints/glazes and firing, pay per piece of pottery. No registration required!

April Stone
Join us at Art In Motion on the Lake Wobegon Trail in Holdingford on September 24th from 5:30-7:30 for an artist talk and demonstration by April Stone, an Ojibwe Black Ash basket maker from the Bad River reservation. She has been working with black ash since 1998 and has researched and traveled extensively, sharing her skills with young and old. April harvests all of her raw materials for her own basket making and for various programming from the ceded territory swamps and forests of northern WI, and processes all of this material by hand. Come view her artistry and learn more about Black Ash Basket Making.
Thanks to a grant from the Central Minnesota Area Community Foundation for the 2023-24 Central MN Arts Grant Round, we’re happy to present “Sharing Anishinaabe Culture through the Black Ash Weaving of April Stone.”
